IIA Namibian Conference: Mind the Gap

BarnOwl was proud to sponsor at the IIA Namibian Annual Conference held on the 16th June 2016 at Nampower Convention Centre, Windhoek. The theme of this year’s event was “Mind the Gap”. The Institute of Internal Auditors Namibia is part of an international network representing the interests of Internal Auditors worldwide.
Dr Claudelle van Eck, CEO: IIA South Africa spoke about the ‘New dawn of Internal audit’ and integrated thinking and the great strides that the internal audit profession is making in terms of professionalisation and creating value in organisations.
We were all entertained to an ‘out of the box’ thinking and highly motivational presentation by Sven Thieme, Executive Chairman of Ohlthaver & List who is one of BarnOwl’s prestigious clients in Namibia. Sven demonstrated a different approach to the ‘golden circle’ from the inside out of why>how> what. This resonated with many of us as it is about passion and making putting the purpose of doing something first.
We were also entertained to a motivational speech by Sakaria who implored us all to love what we are doing and make each day count.
